Go Tribe!

Wednesday, May 27, Bill & I took a road trip to Cleveland to see the Indians play the 2008 American League Chanpions, The Tampa Bay Rays. (Didn't they used to be called the Devil Rays?) We always enjoy our drives to Cleveland and this was no exception. We got up there in good time and headed to the game. We had great seats in the club section and we had a nice time enjoying the buffet and an adult beverage. Unfortunately, the weather was pretty gloomy and the tarp was out on the field.

We sat under cover and watched the weather. Progressive Field (formerly know as Jacobs Field "the Jake" and a much better name in our opinion) is a great place for people watching. The folks sitting in the rain looked like they were have a great time. Finally, the sky cleared and the ground crew arrived to get the field ready to go.

The game got underway about 9 p.m. - 2 hours late. It quickly became an offensive duel. At the end of the first inning, Tampa Bay was up 5 - 0. At the end of the second inning, the score was 5-5. We left at 10:30 for the long drive home and the score was Cleveland 8 - Tampa Bay 7.

We listened to the rest of the game on the radio. Bill drove and I snoozed - he says keeping him company on our late night sprints home to Columbus is not my strength! The Indians beat the Rays 12-7!

Personally, I usually root for Mustard.

What a fun way to spend an early summer evening! Cleveland Indians really rock - go Tribe!
